Graduate Employability Certificate

Pilot project July-September 2010

University recognition for employability skills

The Graduate Employability Certificate is intended to provide Surrey graduates who do not have a job when they graduate, with an opportunity to demonstrate employability skills gained through extra-curricular experiences while you have been studying. It also helps you recognise the new capability you are developing while you search for a job.

What's Involved?

In order to recieve University recognition for your learning you will need to:

  1. Complete a Registration Form and skills and experiences self-evaluation questionnaire.
  2. Create a transition to work life map
  3. Create a job hunting action plan and implement the plan drawing on the extensive on-line planning and self-evaluation resources available to you.
  4. Build a collection of short stories to illustrate your employability skills using a template based on the CBI employability skills statement.
  5. Create a short account of how you have tried to find a job and what you have learnt through the process.

To Register for the Certificate
